This weekend was crazy, I ended up going to Govenor's Ball all three days. Yes, even Friday when we were having a terrible tropical storm. I was up to my knees in mud, but it was definitely an amazing experience. There were some incredible musicians in attendance and since I couldn't make it to Coachella I made this my East Coast Coachella.
As I was running around enjoying all the shows I couldn't help but wonder if I missed the memo. Everyone was wearing the same thing -- cutoffs, flower bustiers, oversize tees, braids and flower wreaths. I know it all started with Coachella inspiring this whole dessert child trend with the help of celebrities like Kate Bosworth, who only made these looks must haves before stepping foot off the plane in California. Just recently Kate collaborated with Topshop to make a line inspired by her music festival look (see here). Now by no means do I think these looks aren't cute, I love them! Its fun and I love flower wreaths. My roommate recently purchased a really cute one from H&M and I definitely plan on wearing it this summer but it was a little overwhelming this weekend. Every other girl had the same outfit walking around it almost became like a uniform and I think it would be great if we could find a new trend for these festivals.
